Is electrolysis truly permanent?

How is electrolysis different from laser hair removal?
Laser uses light energy to target pigment in hair — which means it is ineffective on blonde, gray, red, or white hair, and results vary by skin tone. Electrolysis uses electrical current to permanently destroy each follicle individually. It works on all hair colors and all skin tones, and is the only FDA-recognized permanent method. Many clients use laser for initial bulk reduction and then complete permanent removal with electrolysis.
Does electrolysis hurt?
Most clients describe the sensation as a feeling of warmth, a brief sting, or a slight snap during treatment. Comfort levels vary depending on the area being treated and individual sensitivity. We work at a comfortable pace and adjust our approach to keep your experience as comfortable as possible throughout every session.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on your treatment area, hair density, hair growth cycle, and how consistently you attend appointments. Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are needed to treat every follicle during its active phase. A personalized estimate will be provided at your consultation. Most clients see significant permanent reduction over a series of consistent sessions.
Can electrolysis treat facial hair?
Yes — facial electrolysis is one of our primary specialties. We treat chin hair, upper lip, neck, sideburns, cheeks, and eyebrow areas with precision and care tailored to the sensitivity of facial skin.
Is electrolysis safe for sensitive skin?

Can I do electrolysis after laser hair removal?
Absolutely — and this is actually a very common path. Laser is effective for bulk reduction on larger areas but often leaves behind fine, light, or gray hairs it cannot permanently treat. Electrolysis permanently removes those remaining hairs regardless of color. We specialize in laser-finish electrolysis for exactly this reason.
Does electrolysis work on all hair colors and skin tones?
Yes — this is one of the key advantages of electrolysis over laser. Because it uses electrical current rather than light, it is effective on blonde, gray, red, white, and dark hair. Preparing for Your Appointment
What should I do before my appointment?
Avoid tweezing, waxing, or threading the treatment area for at least two weeks before your session — these methods remove the hair shaft from the follicle, which we need to be present for treatment. Shaving is fine up to the day before. Arrive with clean, makeup-complimentary skin in the treatment area. Staying well-hydrated in the days before your appointment also helps skin respond better to treatment.
What should I avoid after treatment?
Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching it with unwashed hands. Avoid direct sun exposure on the treatment area for 24–48 hours. Skip heavy makeup on treated skin for 24 hours. Avoid heat including saunas, hot showers, and steam for 24 hours. Mild redness or slight swelling in the treated area is normal and typically subsides within a few hours to a day.
